PayPal is one of the world’s leading online payment solutions, which most of you should already be familiar with by now.
On this page, I will be taking a closer look at why so many gambling operators today accept this reliable digital wallet as a viable payment solution for their registered members.
I’m a big fan of PayPal for numerous reasons, but mainly because I enjoy playing online fruit machines and highly sophisticated live dealer games from award-winning software providers on legally permitted sites, and most sites now accept PayPal.
I don’t like using my credit or debit card on real-money gambling sites, so I tend to avoid playing at ones that don’t accept PayPal and will only stick to playing at PayPal-accepting sites.
Let’s dive in to learn more about PayPal and why it is often the go-to online payment solution for many of today’s most trusted operators.
What is PayPal?
PayPal is a market-leading online payment solution that is now accepted at the checkout of millions of trusted eCommerce websites and the cashier section of hundreds of fully licensed and regulated real money gambling sites. It’s my favourite online payment method and has been for over a decade.
It’s classed as a digital wallet, which some people also refer to as an electronic wallet, eWallet or web wallet. I’m used to saying eWallet, but I think the preferred term these days is digital wallet.
PayPal is free to join, but to use their payment processing services, you must provide them with important proof of ID and address documents and get those documents verified before you can gain full access to PayPal’s products, services, and features.
It took me about a minute to register, and I found that the account verification process also took less than an hour after I had sent in a scanned colour copy of my passport and a scanned copy of a mobile phone bill that was less than three months old, which wasn’t too hard to track down.
Your PayPal account can be topped up in several ways, and the good news is that it works well on smartphones, tablets, desktop computers, and tablets.
For example, I connected it to my bank account and debit card to top it up, but you may want to receive money from other PayPal account holders instead of connecting it to your bank account or credit/debit card.
More than 100 million people, myself included, regularly use PayPal, and in more recent years, it has become one of the most popular payment methods for people who like to place sports bets and play games like online blackjack, fruitys, roulette, etc. on today’s most trusted sites.
Your PayPal account can also be used to pay for your weekly groceries, among other things. For example, I also use it to pay for my Netflix subscription and many other online account subscriptions/services. It can also be used to buy and sell crypto from within your PayPal account.
PayPal users can apply for a physical (and virtual) prepaid Mastercard, meaning you can pay for things at any point-of-sale machine or withdraw your PayPal money from an ATM.
You can use your smartphone device to pay for things using PayPal scan-to-pay technology. I find it so easy to use and wouldn’t use any other method.
Why Do Operators Choose PayPal?
Because they try to cater to as many customers as possible, and one way to do this is to accept a range of well-known options for transactions, such as PayPal.
Many well-established and new PayPal casino sites also offer PayPal as a viable payment solution because it’s one of the safest, most user-friendly, reliable, low-cost, and most convenient online payment solutions out there. For me, PayPal is the best online payment solution; nothing else matches it.
When people want to top up their gambling accounts, they can do so with PayPal in an instant, and then when the time comes to cash out their winnings, they can also use PayPal, which is well-known for processing withdrawals in mega-quick time.
In other words, it makes sense for operators to grow their business by accepting this globally renowned online payment solution. If they don’t accept PayPal, people like me would just look for another site that does accept it.
The important things to remember about PayPal are the following:
●PayPal is widely accepted
●Transaction processing fees, if any are attached to certain payments, are super-low (zero fees when sending money to friends/relatives, etc.)
●It’s easy to use
●It’s as fast as processing deposits and withdrawals
●It provides high levels of security, and things like 2FA (two-factor authentication) protect your money and personal details
●If in the unlikely event that any fraudulent activity does take place involving your PayPal account, and you are not to blame, PayPal will help you get your money back
PayPal has been around for over 20 years and has become one of the most trusted brands worldwide – another reason why so many operators offer this method.
It also enhances trust and helps foster a sense of trust in the brand and the industry as a whole. I tend to look for sites that accept PayPal and avoid the ones that don’t because I’ve never had any trouble with PayPal-accepting gambling sites, and don’t want to start using any other methods.
